First world problem I know, but gift giving can be hard. There’re many variables to consider beyond the receiver, you’ve got expense, functionality, spirit of reception just to name a few. I’ll admit, I realize, I’m tough to buy for. As a 47 year-old guy with somewhat comfortable means I just tend to buy what I want when I want within reason. The key to great gift giving is to identify things that people don’t know they want. Once you do that, you’re a world class present presenter.
Of all the categories of things to buy, socks seem to be the most maligned. I was going to lump underwear in there as well, but there are host of fun unusual underwear that make wonderful gifts. But socks, that’s a dangerous place to tread. Only the most accomplished gift giver can pull that off. My wife Vicki is just such a person!
I cannot wait to hike my pant cuff up and show the person next to me these bad boys. I wonder if I’ll be able to find a meeting that fits the bill?
